DESCRIPTION:The Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR) Program is a way of integrating mindfulness into daily living: paying attention on purpose in the present moment\, without judgment\, to life as it is. Research has shown MBSR supports better health\, stress hardiness\, and a better quality of life. In the MBSR classes you will learn how to use present moment awareness: to quiet the mind\, be responsive rather than reactive\, improve your communication skills\, increased concentration\, empower decision-making\, decrease symptoms of stress\, depression and chronic pain to make life seem more manageable.\n\n \n\nINFORMATION/REGISTRATION: Open to public. Orientation Attendance *required * at one session before the start of the MBSR Class Sessions.\n\nSpring 2019 MBSR Orientations:\n\nMonday\, March 18 at 6:00 pm\n\nTuesday\, March 26 at 6:00 pm\n\nSaturday\, March 30 at 1:00 pm\n\n \n\nSPRING CLASS SESSIONS SCHEDULED:\n\nSESSION 1: Begins Saturdays beginning March 16 with Orientation. Eight consecutive weekly sessions meet on: March 23\, March 30\, April 6\, April 13\, April 20\, April 27\, and May 11. ** Daylong Retreat will be April 21.\n\nSESSION: 2: Mondays\, Beginning with Orientation offered on Monday\, March 18 and Monday\, March 25 at 6:00 pm. Eight consecutive classes meet: April 1\, April 8\, April 15\, April 22\, April 29\, May 6\, May 13\, and May 20. **Daylong Retreat will be April 21.\n\n \n\nPROGRAM FEE:  $450 for 31 hours of instruction and a daylong retreat\, Home Practice Manual\, Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction Workbook \, and cd of guided meditation and yoga instruction.\n\n \n\nWhere: Mindfulness Institute NW Illinois Center for Mindfulness located at 104 E. 3rd Street\, Rock Falls\, IL 61071.\n\nTEACHER:  Jeanne Ann Vargas\, MA\, is trained to reach Mindfulness-Based Stress Reduction (MBSR)\, completing foundational studies at the University of Massachusetts' and University of California's Center for Mindfulness.
