SUMMARY:SVACC "Steakless" Fry
DESCRIPTION:SVACC Steak Fry in the Country is a tradition in the Sauk Valley. For over 35 years this event\, hosted by the SVACC Agribusiness Committee\, has provided scholarships to local students to pursue higher education in an ag related field. Funds are also used to support Ag Education through donations to University of Illinois Extension 4H program\, Whiteside County Farm Bureau Ag in the Classroom\, and local FFA programs. This year the committee awarded $9000.00 to 7 local high school students pursing a degree in an ag related field.\n\nThe Steak Fry in the Country brings over 275 people together annually to raise funds for scholarships and Ag Education and provide an opportunity for our Ag community to gather and celebrate. This year the event was to be held on Thursday\, August 6th. Due to the uncertainty of the COVID 19 pandemic the committee discussed changes that would need to be made to\n\nhost a quality event and follow the safety guidelines outlined by the State of Illinois and the IDPH. After much discussion of various options\, it has been decided to cancel the Steak Fry in the Country.\n\nThe Agribusiness Committee remains committed to raising funds for scholarships for students in the Sauk Valley and is excited to announce the SVACC "Steakless Fry". The Agribusiness committee will be seeking donations from local businesses and community members by offering sponsorship packages at various levels. These sponsorship levels will include\n\nadvertising opportunities\, desserts\, wine\, and local restaurant gift certificates. All sponsors will be acknowledged for their commitment to and support of Ag Education in the Sauk Valley.
