DESCRIPTION:Sterling-Rock Falls Historical Society presents\n\nSunday\, June 10\, 2018 at 2:00 PM at the Lincoln Learning Center\n\n611 East Third Street\, Sterling\, IL\n\n \n\nBetty Kay will present\n\n"The True Story of Mary Lincoln"\n\n \n\nHistorical actor Betty Kay tells the story of the Lincolns through the eyes of Elizabeth Todd Edwards\, sister of Mary Todd Lincoln\, who was among the people most closely acquainted with the Lincolns.  She held Mary in her arms on the day she was born and again on the day she died in the Edwards' home in 1882.  She begins her presentation by comparing Mary's childhood experiences with Abraham's and then weaves their lives together.\n\nBetty Kay taught elementary school in Springfield for more than 30 years.  She has written twelve children's books\, including Illinois from A to Z (University of Illinois Press\, 2000).  As a historical actor\, she has given numerous presentations throughout Illinois.\n\n \n\nThis program was presented with the support of Illinois Humanities\n\n\n\nEveryone is invited to attend and light refreshments will be served!\n\nThe program is free\, donations are accepted.\n\nFor more information call Terry Buckaloo at 815-622-6215
