DEPUTY RECORDER POSITION AVAILABLE
Full Time Position: Deputy Recorder
Pay Grade: 6 / Step 1-4 ($18.86-$19.97, negotiable with experience)
Hours: 37.5 hrs. per week; 8:15am-4:30pm (45min unpaid lunch)

Job Summary: Entry level position; a clerical employee who acts under the general supervision of the County Recorder and assists in processing a full range of legal documents, which carries out the statutory duties of the Recorders Office.

Primary Duties & Responsibilities: Performs as an assistant to the Recorder in the discharge of required duties relating to the office, including but not limited to:
- Receive, open, sort, & process mail
- Respond to inquiries from the public; in person, by telephone, & email
- Compile data for various daily & monthly reports
- Handle cash & cash receipts
- Process accounts & general ledger entries
- Computer data entry
- Scan, copy, & microfilm legal documents
- Maintain accurate records
- Progressive learning environment

Qualifications:
- Minimum of high school graduate or equivalent
- Ability to read cursive handwriting
- Minimum of two years’ office experience &/or background in real estate, banking, etc.
- Ability to be proficient in multi-directional duties learned on the job
- Detail oriented, accurate, organized, & dependable
- Ability to problem solve & complete tasks independently
- Knowledge of general accounting procedures & proficient in math
- Must be able to work in an environment without windows & sit at a computer for hours
- Must be able to lift & carry 35-45Ibs
- A working comprehension of N-S-E-W directional relationships (legal descriptions)
- Use of general office equipment – computer, copy machine, typewriter, calculator, fax machine, paper shredder, & microfilm machine
- Subject to a background check
- Ability to be bonded
