Holiday Light Display at Centennial Park
 

A beloved holiday tradition that has brightened the Sauk Valley area for the past five years returns on November 28, 2025! The Holiday Light Display at Centennial Park in Rock Falls (508 E. 11th Street) will once again come to life thanks to the efforts of 25 local businesses, churches, schools, and organizations who have transformed the park into a sparkling winter wonderland.

The display will be open every Friday, Saturday, and Sunday from 5:30–8:30 p.m., beginning Friday, November 28, through Saturday, December 27, 2025. Admission is free; donations are welcome.

Special Events This Year
 

Saturday, November 29 – Horse-Drawn Wagon Rides

Experience the park in a whole new way with a magical, horse-drawn wagon ride provided by Northern Star Farms and sponsored by Candlelight Inn. Rides run from 5:30–8:30 p.m., with the last ride departing at approximately 8:15 p.m. This event is first-come, first-served. No vehicles will be allowed in the park during the event. Please park along the side streets and walk to the Little Schoolhouse parking lot to board the wagon. While you wait, enjoy hot chocolate served by The Salvation Army (free-will donation).

Friday, December 5 – Food Drive & 5K Fun Run & Food Drive

We will be collecting non-perishable food items for the Sauk Valley Food Bank. Greeters at the entrance gate will gladly take your donations. Items may include canned soup, pasta, canned vegetables, or anything you’re able to share to help spread holiday cheer to local families in need.

7:24 Fitness on the Rock will be hosting their Festive 5K Fun Run — a family-friendly event filled with holiday cheer! Lace up your sneakers, put on your favorite Christmas outfit (lights encouraged!), and join the fun. Participation is free; attendees are simply asked to bring a non-perishable food item to help support local families in need through the Sauk Valley Food Bank. The run begins at 5:30 p.m. at 7:24 Fitness on the Rock, makes its way through Centennial Park to enjoy the beautiful Christmas displays, and finishes back at the gym — where hot chocolate will be waiting to warm you up!

Friday, December 12 – Visit with Santa & Mrs. Claus

Santa and Mrs. Claus will be here to greet the children (please remain in your vehicle), and a very special guest will be making a surprise appearance as well!
