Financial Specialist
Position Summary: This position provides financial support to the Executive Director and Board of Directors by maintaining accurate and complete financial records for all Chamber business. The position helps fulfill the financial responsibilities related to the overall mission of the Sauk Valley Area Chamber of Commerce and provides support to the Chamber Board of Directors as needed to effectively execute Chamber activities.
Position Details: This is a part-time position, up to 15 hours per week. Must be within office hours (Monday-Friday 8:30 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.)

Location: Sterling, Illinois
Knowledge & Experience
- Associate Degree OR High School Diploma with 5 years minimum experience in accounting and accounts payable/receivable experience
- Microsoft Office Suite knowledge and skills
- Excellent attention to detail
- Knowledge of QuickBooks accounting software
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
Duties & Responsibilities
Maintain Financial Records
- Complete payroll twice each month for all paid employees of the Chamber
- Create and send out monthly invoices and overdue statements
- Create and send out all invoices for events, sponsorships, and various income
- Collect accounts receivable and post to the correct accounts
- Complete and distribute W-2 tax forms for employees at year end
- File and pay monthly and quarterly tax repots and remittances to federal and state government
- File year-end tax forms along with W-2 forms to federal and state government
- Complete monthly financial reports for the Executive Director
- Keep accurate accounting of all bank accounts and savings accounts including reconciling at the end of every month
- Report to Executive Director and treasurer any discrepancies or accounting issues
- Complete monthly financial reports and various other reports for Executive Director as requested
